Chatford House is situated within walking distance of Lyth Hill, from the top of which you can admire the panoramic views which stretch from North Shropshire through to the Wrekin,  Lawley, Caradoc, Long Mynd, The Devil’s Chair and Pontesford Hill.   The Shropshire Way passes over Lyth Hill and walkers find our home a useful resting place.

For those who enjoy gardening we are lucky to have two large garden centres close by, Dobbies and Percy Throwers.  If you prefer to spend an hour horse riding then Berriewood Riding Stables is just 5 minutes drive away. Of course visiting Church Stretton and taking the shuttle service over the Long Mynd is another pleasant way to spend an afternoon and enjoy a picnic.

There are many other attractions too, Shrewsbury Castle, The Shrewsbury Flower Show – Aug+++++  and the Jules Holland Concert are held in the Quarry which is a beautiful setting with its meandering River Severn and floral display in the Dingle.

The Music Hall has a full schedule of productions / bands / comedians etc.  Just outside of Shrewsbury are Attingham Park and Hawkstone Park with their stunning landscapes.
